Lisa Langseth is a Swedish director and screenwriter who has gained international recognition for her psychologically precise and emotionally intense works. Her films are characterized by complex female characters, profound themes, and a haunting visual language that raises existential questions about identity, freedom, and intimacy. Her film HOTELL (2013, director and screenwriter: Lisa Langseth) tells the story of a woman whose life falls apart after a personal crisis. Together with a support group, she searches for a place where no one knows her—and in this escape, she finds a new perspective on herself. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and was nominated for the Swedish Guldbagge Film Award. With her debut Pure (2010, director and screenwriter: Lisa Langseth), she established herself as one of the most exciting voices in Nordic auteur cinema. The drama won several awards, including the Guldbagge for Best Actress for Alicia Vikander. Euphoria (2017, directed by Lisa Langseth) was her first international co-production, in which she once again collaborated with Vikander – this time alongside Eva Green. The film was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, among others, and was praised by critics for its sensitive staging. In addition to cinema, Langseth also worked on the Netflix series Love & Anarchy (2020), which consistently continues her style with its ironic view of modern relationship forms and social conventions.
