Luc Dardenne

Director

Belgian director Luc Dardenne, born in 1954, works inseparably with his brother Jean-Pierre. Together, the filmmakers have significantly shaped European cinema with their social-realist style. Their works have won multiple awards at the Cannes Film Festival, including the Palme d'Or for *Rosetta* (1999) and *L'Enfant* (2005). Their later films include the drama *The Kid with a Bike* (2011) and *Tori and Lokita* (2022), which was honored with the 75th Anniversary Prize at Cannes.
