A Sense of Place
In 2021, Wim Wenders embarked on a collaborative project with six Iranian filmmakers – Pooya Abbassian, Shirin Barghnavard, Mohammadreza Farzad, Azin Feizabadi, Mina Keshavarz, and Afsaneh Salari – titled A Sense of Place. The project builds on Wenders’ distinctive approach to filmmaking, where places are not merely backdrops but central forces shaping narrative, identity, and memory. Following a masterclass and lecture led by Wenders, the six filmmakers created individual works that explore and reinterpret the idea of A Sense of Place through their own artistic voices. The project was produced by Hamidreza Pejman & Afsun Moshiry.
