23-year-old Jonathan (Jannis Niewöhner) runs a farm with his aunt Martha (Barbara Auer) and selflessly cares for his cancer-stricken father Burghardt (André Hennicke), who stubbornly sabotages his son's efforts, struggles with his mortality, and wishes for a dignified death. The story takes another dramatic turn when Ron, Burghardt’s long-lost friend from his youth, re-appears — and a well-kept family secret is uncovered.
