Juliette Binoche, born on March 9, 1964, in Paris, is an internationally renowned French actress who has won awards such as an Oscar, a César, and a European Film Award. She won her first Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for The English Patient (1996, directed by Anthony Minghella), and received an Oscar nomination for Best Actress for Chocolat (2000, directed by Lasse Hallström). Other notable awards include the Palme d'Or for Certified Copy (2010, directed by Abbas Kiarostami), in which she also plays the lead role.
