Mahamat-Saleh Haroun

Chadian filmmaker Mahamat-Saleh Haroun, who studied film in France, has received significant international recognition for his work. His feature film *A Screaming Man* (2010) was awarded the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. Previously, his film *Daratt* (Dry Season) won the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival in 2006. His more recent drama *Lingui, The Sacred Bonds* (2021) also premiered at Cannes. In his work, Haroun frequently explores the consequences of civil wars and the social realities in Chad.
