The Italian actor Maria Pia Calzone graduated from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. She gained international recognition for her compelling portrayal of Imma Savastano in the series *Gomorrah* (2014–2016). For this role, she was honored with the Golden Nymph for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series at the 2015 Monte-Carlo Television Festival. She also demonstrated her acting versatility in the film *Dobbiamo parlare* (2015), for which she received nominations for an Italian Golden Globe and the Nastro d'Argento.
