Martin Hawie
Director
The filmmaker Martin Hawie, born in Damascus in 1979, completed his directing studies at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. He gained national recognition with his graduation film "Toro" (2015). The drama was invited to the 66th Berlinale in the Perspektive Deutsches Kino section and was nominated for the First Steps Award. Following his successful debut, Hawie has directed various television productions, including the comedy "Freigang" (2019) and an episode of the crime series "Die Toten von Salzburg" (2024).
