Born in Rome in 1982, filmmaker Matteo Rovere is a formative figure in contemporary Italian cinema. His directorial work includes films like the multi-award-winning drama *Italian Race* (Veloce come il vento, 2016) and the historical epic *Romulus & Remus: The First King* (Il primo re, 2019), which was shot in a reconstructed proto-Latin language. As the co-founder of the production company Groenlandia, he is also responsible for numerous successes and has been honored several times with the Nastro d'Argento award for Best Producer. His more recent projects as a director and producer include the internationally acclaimed series *The Law According to Lidia Poët*.
