Paolo Sorrentino
Director
The Italian director and screenwriter Paolo Sorrentino was born in Naples in 1970. His film 'The Great Beauty' (2013), about Roman society, brought him international recognition and was honored with the Academy Award, Golden Globe, and BAFTA Award for Best Foreign Language Film. His earlier successes include 'Il Divo' (2008), which was awarded the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. With the highly autobiographical work 'The Hand of God' (2021), he won the Grand Jury Prize in Venice. Furthermore, he created the internationally acclaimed series 'The Young Pope' and 'The New Pope'.
