Synopsis
The pastoral setting of WARTEN (Waiting) belies the main character's inner turmoil as she wonders if what or who she's waiting for will ever come. Freese succeeds at showing the woman's state of mind through minimal means. WARTEN was Freese's application film for Berlin's prestigious German Film and Television Academy (dffb), which accepted her.
WARTEN (Waiting) by Maren-Kea Freese is a rediscovered gem of the 1980's Super 8 underground in West Berlin.
