A theater production turns into a culture clash when German actors and African refugees rehearse a play about Jewish immigrants.


Director Paul wants to tell the story of his grandfather, who tried to escape to Cuba in 1939 on a cruise ship.


African migrants from the nearby refugee shelter join to give the play more topicality - they will play Jewish refugee as extras. Suddenly, the theater space itself is a place of encounter.
