A night together in hot Greece suddenly changes the relationship between two friends, Enis and Philipp.
A night together in hot Greece suddenly changes the relationship between two friends, Enis and Philipp.
Enis and Philipp are best friends and fitness buddies, which Philipp especially enjoys. Because Philipp is gay and has his eye on his friend.
When Philipp wins a trip to Greece, he persuades Enis to accompany him. He hopes that this will bring them closer together, but for Enis it's just a vacation.
On an excursion, they get lost and meet Hercules, who tells them mythical stories. They spend the night in a cave and have the same magical dream, which changes everything and brings them much closer together than they ever thought possible.
ORPHEUS' SONG is a story of attraction, insecurity and the courage to face the truth. Back in Berlin, Enis begins to have doubts. He distances himself and leaves Philipp in the dark. It is only when Philipp decides to return to Greece as an entertainer that Enis realizes the depth of his feelings. In his queer drama, Tor Iben weaves Greek mythology with urban reality – a restrained production with strong imagery and plenty of room for subtleties.
The film premiered at the 2019 Out Here Now-Kansas City LGBT Film Festival and was screened at the Taiwan International Queer Film Festival and the Chéries-Chéris festival in Paris, among others. A touching story about desire, self-discovery and finding one's own feelings.
