We are delighted to welcome two up-and-coming talents from the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF in our latest SOONER podcast episode: Adam Graf and Mandy Peterat. Adam, born in Austria in 1995, has already made a name for himself internationally as a cameraman, while Mandy, born in Berlin in 1993, comes from a traditional family of tailors and transfers her passion for fine art and interior design to the world of film. Together they have created the short film STAINED SKIN, which is now available on Sooner.

STAINED SKIN takes us to a dystopian textile factory where two young workers, Alba and Samy, are caught up in the rhythmic beat of the machines. The story takes a mystical turn when Alba begins to tell the story of Nanami, a girl who lives at the bottom of the sea and is trying to free herself from enslavement. The film merges reality and fairy tale and metaphorically explores the abuses of the fast fashion industry. In their first directorial collaboration, Adam and Mandy have pushed the boundaries of their previous roles as cinematographer and production designer and, together with the magical animation of Andrei Ebinca, have created a visually stunning and profound narrative.

In our podcast, we talk to Adam and Mandy about their journey into filmmaking, the creation and challenges of producing "Stained Skin" and their experiences at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. They give exciting insights into their creative collaboration and share their insights into the film industry. Listen in and get to know the two directors behind the scenes!
