Carolin Haupt
Actor
Carolin Haupt is an actress born in Rathenow and raised in Berlin who, after completing her training at the University of Music and Theater in Leipzig, took on permanent engagements at renowned theaters. Her career took her to the Centraltheater Leipzig, the Theater Neumarkt Zurich, the German National Theater Weimar, the Staatstheater Mainz, and the Schauspiel Hannover, among others, before she became a member of the Schaubühne ensemble. In addition to her stage work, she is also a narrator for audiobook and radio productions. Her film presence is particularly marked by JUNK SPACE BERLIN, which was directed by Juri Padel in 2022. In it, she plays the role of a homeless woman who takes on a mysterious role within the dystopian scenario. The film premiered at the Oldenburg International Film Festival and received an award for Best Sound Design at the Torino Cinefest, highlighting the project's unique aesthetic direction. Another important title in her filmography is Tom Tykwer's 2016 film A Hologram for the King, in which she plays the role of Ruby. The international feature film shows her in an environment that is somewhere between economic satire, moments of strangeness, and personal encounters. In addition, Haupt has gained experience in short films, for example in productions such as Das Süße zum Schluss and Wünsch dir was!, which were created in university and independent contexts and reveal her spectrum between humorous and finely observed character portrayals. She has appeared in well-known television formats, including In aller Freundschaft – Die jungen Ärzte, Polizeiruf 110, Notruf Hafenkante, WaPo Berlin, and Akte Ex. Through a combination of continuous theater work, cinema experience, and serial appearances, Carolin Haupt has established herself as a versatile and reliably sought-after actress in German-language theater.
