Born in Istanbul in 1989, filmmaker Didem Ellialtı studied documentary film and television journalism at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF). Her graduation film, 'Paula' (2023), is an intimate portrait that gained attention at several festivals. The work received a nomination for the German Documentary Film Award for Young Cinema at DOK.fest München 2023 and was also nominated for the First Steps Award. Her earlier works include the short documentary 'Zwischen uns der Fluss' (Between Us the River) from 2018.
