The filmmaker Frank Albrecht completed his directing studies at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. He gained recognition in the German film scene with his graduation film, the short feature "Der Fährmann und seine Frau" (The Ferryman and His Wife, 2007). The work earned him a nomination for the FIRST STEPS award for young talent and received the "Prädikat: Besonders Wertvoll" (Seal of Approval: Highly Recommended) from the German Film and Media Evaluation Board. The film was presented at festivals such as the Max Ophüls Prize Film Festival.
