Franz Dinda

Franz Dinda (born March 25, 1983 in Jena) is a German actor, author, and artist who has made a name for himself with diverse roles in film and television. He moved to Berlin at a young age and began an artistic career that quickly made him a sought-after performer. He made his breakthrough with roles in productions such as Napola – Elite für den Führer (2004, directed by Dennis Gansel), where he played Friedrich Weimer alongside Max Riemelt and Tom Schilling. He reached another milestone in his career with WESTWIND (2011, directed by Robert Thalheim). In this film, he plays Arne, a West German who meets two twin sisters from the GDR in Hungary and has a decisive influence on the plot, which revolves around love, freedom, and longing. Dinda has also appeared in numerous TV productions, including Generation War (2013, directed by Philipp Kadelbach) and Das Boot (2018–2020, directed by Andreas Prochaska and others), a series that received international attention. He also played a central role in the feature film Die Wolke (2006, directed by Gregor Schnitzler). In addition to his work as an actor, Franz Dinda is also active in literature. He has published books and poetry, demonstrating his artistic versatility.
