Franziska Weisz

Franziska Weisz was born on May 4, 1980, in Vienna and began her career when she was discovered by Ulrich Seidl for the 2001 film Hundstage, in which she played the role of Klaudia. She gained international attention in 2004 with the film HOTEL, a psychological horror drama directed by Jessica Hausner, in which she played the lead role. For her performance, she received the European Shooting Star award at the Berlin International Film Festival in the same year. Another important milestone was the 2014 film KREUZWEG, directed by Dietrich Brüggemann, in which she played the role of the mother. This film won the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay at the 2014 Berlinale.
