Gerti Drassl, born on April 13, 1978, in Eppan, is a versatile Austrian actress who works in film, television, and theater. In 2007, she appeared in the drama MADONNEN (2007, directed by Maria Speth), a German-Belgian-Swiss co-production, in which she played one of the leading roles. In the psychological thriller MA FOLIE – DEINE LIEBE TÖTET MICH (2015, directed by Andrina Mračnikar), she plays in an intense genre hybrid that shifts from romantic drama to psychological thriller. Drassl has had other notable appearances in films such as Das Wunder von Kärnten (2011, directed by Andreas Prochaska), for which she received the German Acting Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2013. In 2023, she played a strong supporting role in Märzengrund (2022, directed by Adrian Goiginger), for which she was nominated for the Austrian Film Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress. In 2023, she also appeared in Wald (2023, directed by Elisabeth Scharang), for which she was also nominated for the Austrian Film Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her television career includes leading roles in series such as Vorstadtweiber (2015–2018, 2022), as well as appearances in Tatort, Das Tagebuch der Anne Frank, and numerous other formats. Her work is diverse, ranging from arthouse films to popular TV productions, and has been recognized with numerous awards.
