Gina Gershon, born on June 10, 1962, in Los Angeles, is an American actress, singer, and author. She gained international fame through her roles in cult films such as Showgirls, Bound, Face/Off, and Cocktail. She studied acting at New York University and began her career in the early 1980s. In the thriller DEMONLOVER (2002), directed by Olivier Assayas, she plays the role of Elaine Si Gibril. The French neo-noir film deals with global corporations, sinister internet platforms, and identity loss in the digital age and was first presented at the Cannes Film Festival. Gina Gershon appears as a narrator in the documentary FRIEDKIN UNCUT (2018) by Francesco Zippel. Together with other greats such as Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino, she reflects on the work of legendary director William Friedkin and his influence on American cinema.
