Golshifteh Farahani

Actor
Golshifteh Farahani, born on July 10, 1983, in Tehran, is an Iranian-French actress of international renown who has made a name for herself with demanding roles in arthouse cinema and European productions. She began her career early in Iran before living in exile in France following Hollywood successes such as “Body of Lies,” ‘Paterson’ (directed by Jim Jarmusch), and “About Elly” (directed by Asghar Farhadi). In the imaginative drama BLIND SPOT (L’ANGLE MORT) (2019, directed by Pierre Trividic & Patrick Mario Bernard), Farahani plays Elham, a woman who has to deal with the emotional absence of a man who has the ability to become invisible. The film combines realism and fantasy, and Farahani's performance creates inner tension and intellectual depth that transcends the genre. In the French-Kurdish comedy IF YOU DIE, I'LL KILL YOU (SI TU MEURS, JE TE TUE) (2011, directed by Hiner Saleem), Farahani plays Siba, the fiancée of a murdered Kurd who travels to Paris to say goodbye to her fiancé's best friend. Farahanis performance shows a combination of vulnerability, strength, and humanistic dignity—in a film about cultural misery, the search for identity, and compassionate connections. Golshifteh Farahani is convincing in both roles with her haunting presence and profound emotional attitude, confirming her reputation as one of the most important international actresses of her generation.
