Holly Hunter

Holly Hunter, born on March 20, 1958, in Conyers, Georgia, is a multi-award-winning US actress who has played a wide variety of roles in film and television. She won the Oscar for Best Actress for her portrayal of the mute pianist Ada McGrath in The Piano (1993, directed by Jane Campion). Other notable films in her career include Broadcast News (1987, directed by James L. Brooks), The Firm (1993, directed by Sydney Pollack), Crash (1996, directed by David Cronenberg), and The Incredibles (2004, original voice of Helen Parr/Elastigirl, directed by Brad Bird). In the animated sequel Incredibles 2 (2018), she reprised her role as the voice of Elastigirl. Her television successes include the lead role in the crime series Saving Grace (2007–2010, directed by the series creator between the pilot and the finale), for which she received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations, among others. Holly Hunter also appeared in the film JACKIE (2012, directed by Antoinette Beumer). In it, she plays the biological mother, Jackie, of two twin sisters who embark on a journey to the US after learning that their mother is in the hospital. The film combines drama and comedy with emotional family themes.
