Hong Chau

Actor
The actor Hong Chau, born in a Thai refugee camp in 1979, gained international attention for her role in Alexander Payne's film *Downsizing* (2017). For this performance, she received nominations for a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Her body of work also includes significant appearances in films such as *The Menu* (2022) and Darren Aronofsky's *The Whale* (2022). Her portrayal in *The Whale* earned her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her more recent work includes Yorgos Lanthimos' film *Kinds of Kindness* (2024).
