The Saarbrücken-born director and screenwriter Jules Herrmann studied directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb). Her feature film debut, *Liebmann* (2016), premiered in the Panorama section of the Berlinale and was nominated for the Teddy Award. Her subsequent feature film, *A Good Place* (2023), premiered at the Locarno Film Festival. For this work, the filmmaker received the award for Best Direction in the Concorso Cineasti del presente section.
