Brussels-born actor and filmmaker Yolande Moreau is a defining figure in Belgian and French cinema. She first gained prominence through her work on the cult television series *Les Deschiens* before establishing herself as a versatile character performer. Her powerful lead performances have earned her multiple accolades, including the César Award for Best Actress for *When the Sea Rises* (2004) and for the artist portrait *Séraphine* (2008). In addition to her acting, Moreau is also a director. Her directorial debut, *When the Sea Rises*, co-directed with Gilles Porte, also won a César, and her later film *Henri* (2013) was screened at the Cannes Film Festival.
