Ayla Yildiz
The documentary filmmaker Ayla Yildiz is a trained media designer for image and sound as well as an image and multimedia editor and specializes in socially critical and political short films. Several of her films have already won awards. Since 2010, she has been working as a freelancer for various productions, taking on every step of the filmmaking process: conception, direction, camera and post-production. She celebrated her cinema debut in 2022 with the documentary me time. The film was planned, shot, edited, marketed and published independently as an in-house production. Yildiz, who lives in Bonn, mainly deals with socially relevant content. What I love about Sooner is that it shows so many independent and international arthouse films that are lovingly curated, which we would otherwise not have access to. What I like best are the many good documentaries, such as MY REMBRANDT and RUTH BADER GINSBURG IN HER OWN WORDS, and I am very pleased that ME TIME is also available here.
