While Robby is looking after his little sister, the unthinkable happens: while he is in the supermarket buying her some sweets, his sister is kidnapped along with her stroller. Robby doesn’t dare go home and runs away. He ends up in the forest, where he meets the wizard Stefan (Peter Trabner), who has his sights set on Robby’s childhood, and the bad-tempered robber captain Rüdiger, who stalks through the forest with his machete. No wonder Robby finds himself in big trouble in no time. But then he has an idea: he can learn how to rob in the forest from Mr. Reuber (Heiko Pinkowski) so that he can steal his sister back. Easier said than done, because the wizard Stefan tricks him badly. But once he has learned to be a robber, he’ll get his revenge—and with his big robber friend, he has a dangerous accomplice at his side. A quirky and funny tall tale of a different kind. REUBER premiered in 2013 and was successfully screened at several festivals, including Filmfest Wismar (as part of the Nautilus Children’s Film Festival program) and the Schlingel International Film Festival, where it attracted great public interest. The film received the Children’s Jury Award at the Kinolino Film Festival in Dresden and was praised for its creative visual language and original narrative style.
