Synopsis

17-year-old Giulia has petrol running through her veins, comes from a family of racing drivers and is considered an exceptional talent. But the unexpected return of her brother jeopardizes her big dream. Giulia De Martino's passion for fast engines runs in her blood, as she comes from a family that has produced motorsport champions for generations. She is also a racing driver herself, and such an exceptional talent that, at the age of seventeen, she is already competing in the GT championship under the guidance of her father Mario. But one day everything changes, and Giulia now has to fend for herself both on the racetrack and in life. The situation is complicated when her brother Loris unexpectedly returns home. Although he can no longer be relied upon as a racing driver, he has an extraordinary seventh sense for driving. Giulia has no choice but to work with him. In a fast-paced sequence of adrenaline and emotions, both discover how difficult and at the same time meaningful it is to be a family. Matteo Rovero's film VELOCE COME IL VENTO is a successful blend of sports and family drama that won six trophies at the David di Donatello Awards, Italy's most important film awards, including awards for best actor, best cinematography, and best sound. Rovero's film is based on the tragic story of the exceptional race car driver Carlo Capone.
