Brazil's jungle landscape is the scene of a man-made tragedy. The habitat of the Guaraní-Kaiowá, Brazil's largest indigenous ethnic group, is being destroyed by soy farmers. To meet the world's rising meat consumption, the demand for soy for animal feed production is also increasing. This is why Brazil has become one of the largest soy producers in the world. On an area as large as Germany, genetically modified soy monocultures are growing there, with massive use of sprays and fertilizers.
