Alone in his apartment late one evening, he sets up his camera and hits record. He announces that he's going to telephone three people. In the calls that follow, he confronts his tormentors about events long past and accuses them of being ruthless and of driving him from the paradise of childhood. For the filmmaking father and son duo Rainer Bärensprung and Robin Epkenhans, the shooting of GIESELMANN was also a very personal experience. "Working on the film reminded us of our own scars and their underlying injuries. Everyone experiences them, goes through them, but deals with them differently. Is there perhaps another way?"
