A woman and a man clash in a bar in Hamburg, when she slaps him (almost) out of nowhere. The response is completely unexpected. It ignites a series of liberating slaps that spread through the city like wildfire. "Someone can't just smack me and declare it art." This statement by the then West German Minister of the interior was the starting point for Pia Frankenberg's second film.
