After every suicide, Richie returns—through a hole in the wall. Becca faces a choice: escape or an eternal cycle of horror.

After every suicide, Richie returns—through a hole in the wall. Becca faces a choice: escape or an eternal cycle of horror.

A phone call in the middle of the night is enough to throw Becca off balance. Her older brother Richie has a long history of mental instability, and this time his voice sounds more urgent than ever. When she arrives at his apartment, she finds his lifeless body - but at that very moment, he suddenly stands before her, stark naked and very much alive. Richie is convinced: he can no longer die. After every suicide attempt, he is thrown back into life through a mysterious hole in the wall of his bedroom.

What follows is a surreal nightmare combining body horror, sibling drama, and dark comedy. While Becca struggles with her future and considers a job offer outside the city, the corpses of his previous suicides literally pile up in her brother's apartment. Amidst this grotesque backdrop, a chamber drama unfolds about closeness, responsibility, and the inexplicable boundary between life and death.

DEAD DICKS premiered at the Blood in the Snow Canadian Film Festival in 2019 and won several awards, including Best Screenplay and Best Actor for Heston Horwin. The film also won an award for its innovative script at the 2020 Fantasporto International Film Festival. The directorial debut of Canadian duo Chris Bavota and Lee Paula Springer has been stylistically compared to the early work of David Cronenberg, not least because the fictional university in the film is an anagram of Cronenberg's name.
