Not only in theater, but also in film, it seems to be becoming more difficult to get roles due to her age and gender, and also as a woman with a migrant background. The few roles she gets offered, are invariably those that play on her Russian heritage as a cliché. In the process, it becomes increasingly clear to her how unfair and gender-specific the theater and film world is. But even in a society that is strongly influenced by patriarchal structures, she constantly comes up against her own limitations, or rather those of women in society. Until she decides to step out of the victim role and fight back. The film GESCHLECHTERKAMPF – Das Ende des Patriarchats (Gender War – The End of Patriarchy) uses the biography of the main character to explore gender issues, particularly in art, culture, and film, in a thesis-like arrangement.
