Dodo

In a luxurious villa outside Athens, a once-wealthy family is preparing for a wedding that could save them from financial collapse. With only two days left before their daughter marries a wealthy heir, tensions rise as relatives, employees and unexpected guests gather for the carefully orchestrated celebration. Everything changes when an impossible visitor appears: a dodo, a bird believed to have been extinct for more than 300 years. Its mysterious arrival unsettles the household and sets off a chain reaction among the inhabitants. Secrets surface, alliances shift and the thin façade of wealth and respectability begins to crumble. Blending absurdist humor with social satire, DODO transforms a chaotic wedding countdown into a portrait of a society haunted by debt, ambition and illusion. As the hours pass and the bird wanders through the house like an omen, order gradually gives way to madness. DODO premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival in the Cannes Première section of the Official Selection.
