A strike paralyzes Paris. For single mother Julie, even getting to work becomes a battle. Laure Calamy stars in a breathless social thriller.
Synopsis
FULL TIME follows Julie, a single mother whose days are ruled by alarms, children, work and trains. A Paris transit strike turns her routine into a tense fight for time, money and dignity.
She wakes her children in the dark, drops them with a weary babysitter and then races to her job as team leader of the chambermaids in a luxury hotel. The pressure never lets up: a bank call reminds her how empty her accounts are, a secret interview offers a possible way forward, and the ex-husband she needs for support remains absent.
The film is sharply attentive to the invisible strain of combining paid work, childcare and the constant need to keep up appearances. Julie is not shown as a passive victim. She is determined, resourceful and willing to stretch every form of help she receives, even when her improvisations put others in trouble and reveal how fragile her situation really is.
Built with clockwork precision and a strong sense of immersion, FULL TIME observes the everyday pressures that usually stay hidden. Laure Calamy carries the role with strength and vulnerability, and the result is a clear-eyed social drama.
