Elena (Callie Hernandez) goes into hiding after a bizarre accident in New Mexico, where she meets Jessica (Ashley Denise Robinson), an old friend from high school. When Jessica's stalker (Will Madden) suddenly shows up at her door, they have to seek help from beyond the grave to get rid of him for good. JETHICA by Pete Ohs is a dark horror drama with satirical undertones. Elena and Jessica navigate a terrain somewhere between isolation and surreal comedy, drawing on genre-savvy references to film noir and Coen brothers moments. Pete Ohs worked without a finished script, shot with a small team, and improvised the screenplay with the actors. The energy of the performers—especially Callie Hernandez and Ashley Denise Robinson—carries the film through its mixture of dry irony and existential threats. The film brings surprising human traits to the dark satire: it makes feelings such as grief, loneliness, and the search for connection palpable without falling into genre clichés. In doing so, it also shows the absurdity of stalking and the power of female solidarity—supported by concise camera work and minimalist staging. JETHICA celebrated its world premiere in March 2022 at the SXSW Film Festival and was subsequently shown at festivals such as Busan, Overlook, Maryland, and the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, where it won a Special Jury Award.
