Dietmar Mössmer

Dietmar Mössmer, born on August 10, 1955, in Zams (Tyrol), died on May 2, 2025, at the age of 69. He was a distinguished Austrian actor and radio play narrator who became known to a wide audience through his role as Sergente Alvise in the “Donna Leon” film adaptations over a period of almost two decades. In the thriller FEIERTAG (2002/2003), directed by Detlef Bothe, Mössmer played the role of Sam, a lonely miner from Tyrol. When he joins a group celebrating New Year's Eve, he triggers an escalating dynamic that oscillates between loneliness, intoxication, and aggressive escalation. The film was made on a minimal budget and was praised for its intense atmosphere. In his decades-long career, Mössmer has established himself as a versatile actor.
