Jean-Paul Civeyrac
DirectorFrench director and film theorist Jean-Paul Civeyrac was born in Firminy in 1964. In addition to his work as a filmmaker, he teaches at the renowned Paris film school La Fémis. His cinematic works, which often explore the emotional states of young people, are known for their literary and sometimes melancholic mood. For the drama *All the Fine Promises* (2003), Civeyrac received the prestigious Prix Jean Vigo. His later work *A Paris Education* (2018) premiered in the Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival and was nominated for the Prix Louis-Delluc.
