Joy Olasunmibo Ogunmakin

Joy Olasunmibo Ogunmakin, known internationally by her stage name Ayọ, is a musician and actor. Born near Cologne in 1980, she first achieved major success with her debut album "Joyful" (2006). Alongside her music career, she also pursues acting projects, taking on the lead role in Raoul Peck's feature film "Murder in Pacot" (2014). More recently, she was part of the cast of the German series "Asbest" (2023). Her engagement in the film industry was further highlighted by her role as a jury member for the "Un Certain Regard" section at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.
