Raoul Peck
Director
Born in 1953 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Raoul Peck is one of the seminal filmmakers of politically engaged cinema. He completed his education at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin. He gained international recognition particularly for his documentary film “I Am Not Your Negro” (2016) about James Baldwin, which received an Oscar nomination and won a BAFTA Award. His diverse body of work also includes the feature film “Lumumba” (2000) and the documentary series “Exterminate All the Brutes” (2021). He was honored with the Berlinale Camera in 2024 for his outstanding contribution to cinema.
