Starting from an autobiographical art project, Miriam Bajtala reconstructs her life through the floor plans of the eighteen apartments she has lived in. These spaces become a kind of spatial biography — a “curriculum vitae” shaped by migration, ...

Black Sun - Mythological Background of National Socialism
1998 | 95 min | Documentary
As early as the 1900s, numerous occult and neo-Germanic groups emerged in Germany and Austria, claiming the dominance of the "Aryan race" on the basis of misunderstood legends and symbols. Several Nazi celebrities found additional confirmation for their world view in this. By means of rhetoric, sacral architecture and spectacular mass stagings, such as torchlight marches and solstice bonfires, such pseudo-religious content was also sunk into the subconscious of the masses. The film's central anchor ...

Inspired by Walter Ruttmann's 1927 silent classic, the film observes the modern metropolis through images rather than dialogue, turning streets, parks and transit lines into a living portrait. The camera moves through rush-hour subway carriages, follows bicycle couriers through dense traffic and lingers in parks where people step away from ...
