ActorKaroline Eichhorn is a German actress who has impressed audiences with her impressive roles in both film and television. After training at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, she embarked on a versatile career that has made her a fixture in the German film and television landscape.
She has appeared in numerous award-winning cinema productions. In IM SCHATTEN (2010, directed by Thomas Arslan), she played a striking supporting role in a thriller that received great acclaim for its minimalist visual language. As early as 1995, she starred in DIE EISBOMBE, directed by Peter Timm, a film that addressed social issues in the post-reunification period. This was followed in 2007 by FERIEN, directed by Thomas Arslan, a drama that attracted attention at festivals. Her role in Der Felsen (2002, directed by Dominik Graf) also underscored her flair for intense characters.
Karoline Eichhorn became known to an international audience primarily through the Netflix series “Dark” (2017–2020, directed by Baran bo Odar), in which she played the role of Charlotte Doppler. She has also appeared in successful television formats such as ‘Tatort’ and “Der letzte Zeuge.” Her presence in television films and series has contributed significantly to her becoming one of Germany's most sought-after actresses.
Eichhorn has received numerous awards for her artistic achievements. In 1998, she received the Adolf Grimme Prize for “Der Sandmann” and was also honored with the Bavarian Television Prize. These awards recognize her outstanding work and her ability to authentically embody challenging characters.
With films such as IM SCHATTEN, FERIEN, and DIE EISBOMBE, as well as her international presence in “Dark,” Karoline Eichhorn has proven that she is one of the most versatile and respected actresses of her generation.
