Souad Amidou

Souad Amidou is a French-Moroccan actress who has been an integral part of Francophone cinema since the 1970s. Her cinematic work combines emotional depth with social awareness, and she has collaborated with leading French and international directors throughout her career. In BRIGHT WOMEN (2022), directed by Élodie Lélue, Amidou is part of an ensemble cast in a narrative that illuminates women's life paths with great empathy and realism. Souad Amidou made her breakthrough in Francis Girod's “Le Grand frère” (1982), for which she received a César nomination for Best Newcomer.
