Treppe aufwärts

Mia Maariel Meyer's debut film, tells a 3-generational story about the grandfather whose gambling addiction has destroyed the life of his son and grandson. Adam (Hanno Koffler) is a gambler. He cracks machines in gambling houses in order to use the "income" to pay off the mountain of debt his dementia-suffering father Woyzeck (Christian Wolff) has accumulated through his gambling addiction. He now ekes out a living in his small family house on the edge of the prefabricated buildings. TREPPE AUFWÄRTS was created as a crowd-funding project, "Flucht aus der Förderung" (Escape from the Promotion) was the title of the Berlin Tagesspiegel.
