Interruption

Interruption

Directed by Yorgos Zois

Trailer

A group of armed men storms the stage at a theatre. It's unclear, if this is part of the play or the brutal reality.

Synopsis

INTERRUPTION is the postmodern theatre adaptation of the classical Greek tragedy Orestie by Aeschylus about power, revenge and the concept of law and justice. The film was inspired by real events. In 2002, Chechen separatists took 850 people hostage at the Dubrovka Theatre in Moscow. The audience initially thought the hostage-taking was part of the play. "Interruption is one of the most intelligent films I've seen lately and Yorgos Zois is without doubt one of the most original voices in European cinema." (Ruben Ostlund for lifo.gr)
