Touching work on three Kurdish siblings who want to transport their mother's coffin through Iraqi Kurdistan territory. A road movie and a local movie.
Synopsis
Three siblings return to their Kurdish homeland after many years to fulfill their mother's last wish: to be buried next to her husband. On their nerve-wracking odyssey through Kurdistan, they are confronted not only with their extended Kurdish family, who do not accept their mother's last wish, but above all with themselves. They have grown very distant from each other in recent years, each living their own lives, and when they do talk, it is mostly to exchange mutual recriminations. At the same time, it becomes apparent during their journey that a terrible conflict is brewing in their homeland, the extent of which no one can initially foresee. The emigrants know little about each other, and when they do talk, it is a barrage of accusations. But it also becomes apparent that a deadly conflict is brewing in their country.
