Consumption, glamour, disasters and mass media - the art of Andy Warhol is a reflection of America. Kim Evans portrays Warhol's controversial appearance and the total work of art.
Synopsis
With Campbell's soup cans and a silkscreen-printed Marilyn, the son of Slovakian immigrants rose to become a Pop Art icon. Blond wig, eccentric appearance and excessive activity in the legendary Factory stylized Andy Warhol to his trademark.
He legitimized art as a marketable mass commodity. Designer, artist, filmmaker, music producer and publisher - for some he was a genius, for others a flat epigone.
