Eine gefangene Frau - a woman captured

Marisch, a 52-year-old Hungarian woman, worked for a family in slave-like conditions for a decade, working 20-hour days with no pay. This film follows her on her way to freedom. Her oppressors confiscated her identity papers and she only left the house when they allowed her to. They treated Marisch like an animal, giving her only leftover food and no bed to sleep on. Marisch ekes out her existence in constant fear, but dreams of regaining her life. The presence of the camera helps her to understand that she is not completely alone. She begins to gain confidence and after two years of shooting, she gathers all her courage and reveals her plan: "I will flee."
