Calcutta, India, one of the most densely populated cities in the world, is home not only to 14 million people, but also to countless stray dogs.
Synopsis
Director Jesse Alk paints a kaleidoscopic picture of the city of Calcutta as seen through the prism of four street dogs and the people who love them. The caretakers find meaning in their shared mission to care for thier neglected four-legged friends that have existed in the cities and villages of India for millennia.
"PARIAH DOG highlights Alk's skills as an extremely gifted, poetic and even countercultural filmmaker who has created a labor of love with his debut feature." (filmint.nu)
